Description

Andrew Jackson's Hair. This lot contains three-to-four strands of hair that came from Andrew Jackson. It is accompanied by a copy of the original provenance ("A sacred relic, Hair of Gen. Jackson; recd 1846") as well as a copy of a letter of authentication by Charles Hamilton who concluded that the provenance was "a genuine document of the period, recording that this is the hair of Andrew Jackson, no doubt cut from his head, as was the custom at the time, right after his death."
