Description
President Donald J. Trump: Very Fine Original Artwork. Over the years, Mr. Trump has occasionally drawn views of the New York City skyline for donation to worthy charity auctions. The example offered here dates from 2005, and was given to the St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters organization in New York (the letter of provenance sent by the charity to the auction purchaser accompanies the lot). The artwork itself measures 9" x 11.5", nicely presented in its original 24" x 20" frame as shown. It is boldly signed with a clearly legible "Donald Trump" signature (it is interesting to note how Mr. Trump's signature has changed over the years, as more recent iterations are far less legible). The same might be said of his more recent depictions of the New York City skyline, which tend to lack the multi-color treatment and fine detail reflected in this 2005 work.To our knowledge, only two other Trump skylines have been resold in the collector auction market. One, a similar but much simpler image brought $29,184 in a California auction. The other, a very minimal sketch of a single building, sold for $16,000. Hopefully, bidders will find the superior example offered here of great interest.
