Douglas & Johnson: Superb Large, Multi-Color Jugate 1860 Campaign Chart.Features biographies of the 1860 running mates, the Democrat Party platform, and a variety of political facts and statistics, surrounded by images of the first fifteen presidents interspersed with anecdotes about Douglas, quotes from the famed orator, etc. Condition is nothing short of spectacular - probably the best of any chart of this type we've seen, and professionally linen backed to preserve it. Amazingly, the Frent Collection had two examples, the other of which sold for $6000 in February 2018. While also a superior copy in excellent condition, it did have minor toning and, in all fairness, was not the equal of this example. One of the great 19th century political display items, and especially appealing as it is possible to "mate" it with a similar Lincoln and Hamlin. 28" x 36.5".
