Description

Abraham Lincoln: Two Stately Prints. (1) Featuring a large portrait of Abraham Lincoln, his name appears at the bottom, with "J.G. Rhein. Detroit Mich." in small text beneath. The sight size measures 17.625" x 23.625", with the overall size at 21.75" x 27.75". Multiple tears are present, with one 3" tear at the top of Lincoln's head, a 3" tear across the left shoulder, and several smaller tears also along the left shoulder. Expected toning is present, with a couple of marks near the left edge. The frame exhibits minor wear and chipping at the edges. In overall good condition, it would display quite nicely. (2) The bottom of this portrait has a facsimile signature, with the bottom right corner reading, "Printed in Oil Colors by Bingham & Dodd, Hartf." Housed in a wooden frame with attractive dark mat, it measures 17" x 21" overall with a sight size of 13.25" x 16.125". Some minor tears are above Lincoln's right shoulder, and a mark is near his ear on the left. A small stain and some roughness can be seen at the bottom left corner. It exhibits expected light foxing and toning; otherwise, this is in great condition with lovely graphic appeal. From The Collection of Dr. Blaine Houmes
