Abraham Lincoln: 1864 Broadside. Printed broadside, 11 1/2" x 18 1/4". A striking pro-Union broadside issued during the 1864 presidential campaign by the National Union Executive Committee, the coalition of Republicans and War Democrats supporting Abraham Lincoln's re-election. The broadside features a map of the Southern and border states, shaded to distinguish regions under Union and Confederate control, accompanied by two columns of text outlining Union victories and emphasizing that the war's end is near. It concludes with the biblical admonition: "They who took the sword are perishing by the sword."Condition: Folds, evenly toned with couple of tiny holes near Iowa state. Closely trimmed on right, overall very good condition.
