Description

William McKinley and William Jennings Bryan: 1896 Campaign Items. This group has: (1) A McKinley & Hobart mechanical gold bug brooch, lacking the spring and stinger-release mechanism, but with excellent photos; (2) A 7/8" celluloid portrait pin inscribed "For Vice President 96 D. Russell Brown"; (3) A 1" x 1.25" red, white, and blue enamel stickpin for "Free Silver" and "Bryan" (quite unusual!); and (4) A silvered copper stickpin of "Jackson" by Childs of Chicago, dating from this same period and likely issued for some Democratic organization.
