Description
William Howard Taft: Awesome, Unique, Commercial Travelers Ribbon. We are proud to offer what is arguably the best single portrait Taft badge in the hobby! The key component to this 3" x 11.5" ribbon badge is an 1 1/4" celluloid button in a brass, roped frame. The button has a cartoon of a standing Taft holding a suitcase marked USA, tipping his straw hat, captioned "A Successful Hustler". It is mounted to a red, white and blue satin rosette with ribbons and gold metallic thread tassels. The satin ribbon which hangs below is gold-stamped "Taft Commercial Travelers League of Missouri". The ribbon is trimmed in gold metallic thread with matching fringe at the bottom. There is some very light wear to the gold lettering and some faint stains to the ribbon which detract but little. The button itself is mint. A small paper label on the verso indicates it was a product of the Steiner Engraving & Badge Company of St. Louis. It retains the original safety-pin attachment on verso. If you're looking for a centerpiece for your Taft frame, look no further!Auction Info
