William Howard Taft: A Wonderful 1908 Cartoon-Style Campaign Button. The GOP national convention was in Chicago that year, while the Democrats met in Denver. The conventions occasioned the issue of a pair of classic 1 1/4" political buttons: the Bryan version has him driving a jalopy, with the slogan "From Denver to Washington," while this one has Taft riding a charging elephant and brandishing a "Big Stick" with the slogan "From Chicago to Washington." Filled back, mint condition. We've never seen a nicer one!Auction Info
