Description
Theodore Roosevelt: Rare 1" 1917-dated Pinback. "Americanism 1917" at top, "Remember Teddy and San Juan Hill" below. TR is pictured not in a Rough Rider uniform, but in that of a World War I doughboy. Condition is choice, although for accuracy we must note two minor imperfections: high magnification discloses two very small, fine celluloid cracks, and there is a tiny and barely detectable celluloid separation along the collet at 5:30. Overall a beautiful example of a rare and important TR design. This is the plate specimen from the original 1896-1972 Hake volume, page 67, number 251.Auction Info
