Description

Lincoln & Hamlin: The First Photographic Jugate Political Pin. Ferrotypes arrived with a bang in the election of 1860, and among the inventive designs were "uniside" jugates for all four compelling presidential tickets. These designs have a tendency to come with some bubbling of the surface emulsion, but this is a choice, well-centered example with a beautiful, smooth surface. The only negative is the absence of a pin on verso. Diameter 21mm. From the Merrill C. Berman Collection.
