Description

John W. Davis: Highly Desirable Hometown Button. This 2ΒΌ" button probably holds the record for the most valuable single - portrait Davis button from 1924. We sold an example in 2009 for $11,950. It certainly has a lot going for it. Although not specified, we presume it was issued and sold as a souvenir at the notification ceremonies held in Davis' hometown of Clarksburg, West Virginia. This was a one-day event, so buttons and badges were issued in very limited quantities. It is bold, very well designed and super rare. If you could only have one representative Davis button for your collection, this is the logical choice. And, if that wasn't enough, it is in mint condition!
