Description

John W. Davis: Classic Teapot Dome Button. In 1924, the Democrats tried to use the Teapot Dome scandal of the Harding administration to tarnish the incumbent President, Calvin Coolidge. Although a series of buttons were issued, even until 1928, the issue did not have any traction, and failed to prevent Democratic defeat in November. This 7/8" button shows "Teapot Dome" and promises "Honest Days with Davis". It has an Oppenheimer & Shaw of Washington, D.C. back paper and is in mint condition.
