Description

Dwight D. Eisenhower: Three "Better" IKE Buttons. A trio of classics include: (1) 7/8" slogan button inscribed "Draft Eisenhower / Douglas / A.D.A." referencing Americans for Democratic Action (ADA), the liberal political organization that advocated progressive domestic policies in the postwar era. The button shows some red color bleed, a condition issue to which this design appears prone, consistent with other examples we have encountered. (2) 1 1/2" "Re-Elect Ike & Irelan in ABSECON", Mayor Warren Irelan was running for re-election in the Atlantic County, NJ city of Absecon. (3) Popular 1 1/2" "Woman Power / For / Eisenhower" pinback by Bastian Brothers showing a lady elephant wearing an Ike button and holding a G.O.P. pennant.

Condition: Save for the bit of color bleed on #1, all are in excellent condition.
