Description

John F. Kennedy: Watch Received as a Gift While President. An Elmar 17-jewels wristwatch with a gold-filled case and Hebrew numerals on the dial. The face measures 1.5" in diameter with calf leather band. Accompanied by a letter from Kennedy's private secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, stating that "A very close friend of President John F. Kennedy made a trip to the Far East and upon return he gave the President the gold 'Elmar' watch with Far Eastern numerals and black calf leather wrist band, which you now have in your possession. The President tried it on. Then pushed it aside - and said he had no need for it." Accompanying research states that the band size was smaller than Kennedy's wrist size, making it impossible for him to wear the watch. Stored in a blue velvet case.

Condition: Minor scuffing to the back of the watch face. Otherwise, fine.
