Description
John Bevil and W.H. Stark Document Signed. Printed document, Republic of Texas, Jasper County, July 5, 1839. 1 p., 8vo, completed in manuscript with a solid star at top. This document discusses the land grant of Robert Hossey, in Jasper County, Texas. Signed by John Bevil as President, W. H. Stark as Associate for the Board of Land Commissioners, Jasper County; attested by A. G. Parker, and issued to certify that Hassey arrived in Texas in 1831 and was entitled to one league and one labor of land upon payment of the proper rates. John Bevil was an early (perhaps the first) settler in what became Jasper County and served in several official positions. Creased where formerly folded and moderately browned, otherwise excellent. Courtesy of Simpson Galleries, Houston. Consigned Lot. The high bid placed by via mail, fax, the Internet or telephone will be entered as the opening bid for the lot during the live portion of the silent auction.Auction Info
