Description
Jacqueline Kennedy: Original Mark Shaw Photograph with Book. 14" x 10," framed to 19" x 15"; hardcover book (160 pages). An original 14" x 10" black and white photograph taken by Mark Shaw of Jacqueline Kennedy and her daughter Caroline, bearing the photographer's stamp on the back. Also, Mr. Shaw's book, The John F. Kennedys: A Family Album, which includes a similar image on pages 30-31. In 1959, Life magazine chose Mark Shaw to photograph John and Jacqueline Kennedy. That was the beginning of an enduring working relationship and personal friendship that would lead to Mr. Shaw being accepted as the Kennedys' "family photographer." He visited them at the White House and the Kennedy Compound in Hyannis Port, photographing them and their children in both official and casual settings. In 1964, Mr. Shaw published a collection of these images in his book, included with this lot. Fine condition.From the collection of Dr. Dean Rudoy. For more information, please click here.
