Description

George Washington: Seasons Indian Peace Medal. This 48 mm. copper medal is known as the "Seasons Medal". Examples in silver and copper were given to Native Americans as goodwill gifts. One side shows a farmer sowing seed, inscribed U.S.A. The other side has a wreath inscribed: "Second Presidency Of Geo: Washington MDCCXCVI." [1796] It grades Fine with a few minor rim bruises. It is accompanied by a 1923 letter from the Curator of the A.N.A., appraising the item at $10 to $20.
