John Wilkes Booth: 1864 Playbill. 5 ¾" x 14" playbill for a May 13, 1864 benefit performance for John Wilkes Booth at the Boston Museum with Booth assaying the role of Shylock. Booth's name is mentioned five times. He also performed as Petruchio in "Katherine and Petruchio!" immediately following the "Merchant of Venice" and in the "Lady of Lyons!" the very next day. Excellent condition. Acquired from the 1990 auction of Franklyn Lenthall's "Boothbay Theatre Collection".
