Abraham Lincoln: General Order Announcing His Death. 5" x 8" document printed on both sides of a single sheet, comprising "General Orders No. 66", War Department, Washington City, April 16, 1865. It includes Secretary of War Stanton's announcement of President Lincoln's death to the Armies of the United States followed by protocols attending the observance of his death signed in type by the Assistant Adjutant General. Disbound, some toning at bottom with insect damage to lower right corner.
