John Tyler: Cobalt Decorated Stoneware Jug. 14..5" tall three gallon stoneware jug with cobalt blue decoration reading "Tyler." above a series of dashes. Incised above: "3 E. S. Fox Athens". Fox was active in Athens, New York 1838-1843. Squared spout with some flaking on two sides and the top, of little consequence. A rare piece of folk art demonstrating support for the first President to succeed in office after the death of his predecessor.Auction Info
