Description
James A. Garfield: Wedgwood Etruria Pitcher. Highly colorful 7.5" pitcher by Wedgwood of England titled "Garfield Born 1831 President 1881". It has a large transfer portrait of Garfield on one side and an American eagle, shield and flags on the other. A shield with crossed arrows appears below the spout. The neck, spout and handle all have hand-painted highlights over transfer decorations. It is a particularly fine and clean example. It was almost certainly issued in conjunction with the inauguration.Auction Info
