Description

Jacqueline Kennedy: A Faux Diamond, Emerald and Turquoise Necklace with Impeccable Provenance. A well-made necklace decorated with green glass beads simulating emeralds, brilliant-cut artificial diamonds, and simulated turquoise drops, mounted in silver-colored metal. One mounted diamond has come loose, but is present and easily re-attached; otherwise excellent condition. A dramatic necklace clearly reserved for formal occasions. Length 17 inches.
Provenance: Purchased at Sotheby's celebrated February 17, 2005 auction of items from the estate of Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis, lot 642, where it sold for $6600.
The necklace is housed in its original custom case, formed of wood covered with silk brocade cloth. Wear on the exterior of the case suggests heirloom status.
