Group lot of eleven items used to McKinley extended family members on the occasion on President McKinley's 1901 inauguration, including several very scarce tickets and passes. The lot contains:1) Two passes issued individually to "Mr. Henry Mathews" and "Mr. Endsley". Printed at top "INAUGURAL DAY, 1901", and stating that "The Bearer... is a member of the President's immediate party and as such is commended to the courtesy of those in charge of the various inaugural ceremonies." Signed by George Cortelyou, Secretary to the President. The card engrossed to Mr. Endsley is very clean and pristine. The second card has a few small creases, and light soiling. Each card measures approximately 4.6" x 3.5".
2) Two passes on light blue card stock, admitting the bearer to the Executive Mansion and Grounds on March 4th. The passes are engrossed to "Mrs. Henry Mathews" (Kittie), and "Mr. and Mrs. Endsley"; both passes are signed by George Cortelyou, Secretary to the President. Both cards are slightly toned at edges, but remain crisp and pristine. Each card measures approximately 4.6" x 3.5".
3) Ticket for entry to the President's Stand at the Inaugural Ceremony. 4" x 1.75"; bearing a round Inaugural Committee stamp and stating that the pass is "Good Only at Door No. 2." Stray traces of green, otherwise color remains bright and overall condition is excellent.
4) Inauguration Ceremonies ticket issued to "Mr. Henry Mathews & Wife", blue ink on card stock, 4.25" x 2.75", admitting the bearer to the "Senate Wing of the Capitol, and to the Inaugural Platform." Few traces of foxing on the verso, else very clean/

6) Ticket to the Inaugural Ball, black ink on white card stock, 4.25" x 2.7". Engrossed to "Mrs. H.S. Endsley." Light soiling at edges, otherwise near fine.
7) Printed invitation to the Inaugural Ceremonies, bifolium folded down to 4.5" x 7". Formal invitation is printed on page one, and names of the Committee members appear on page three. Light soiling to verso, gently toned. Inaugural Ball program, 12 pages with a card stock cover bearing a gilded profile of McKinley surrounded by a wreath design in slate blue. The original matching blue tie remains. Soiling to cover, and slight fraying to tie.
8) Printed program for the Inaugural Ceremonies at the National Capitol, March 4, 1901. 12pp, 4.25" x 8.5", with printed wraps bearing an engraving of the Capitol. Few spots of foxing to the page containing jugate portraits of McKinley and Roosevelt, remaining pages are very clean. Bit of residue adhered to cover, ribbon at binding is intact.
A wonderful grouping of ephemera that remains in very fine condition, no doubt as a result of being stored and cared for as treasured family mementos.
