George Washington: 1789-Dated "Memorable Era" Brass Inaugural Shank Button. Along with the "Linked States" and "GW Long Live the President" varieties, this is a "must have" variety for collectors. It features a great Federal-style eagle and slogan, and it is the only variety of George Washington Inaugural buttons which is dated. This is one of the most attractive specimens we have handled, with extremely strong strike, pleasing color and original shank on verso. Diameter 34 mm. From the Merrill C.
