Grover Cleveland: Rare and Spectacular Silk Portrait Flag in Beautiful Condition. Threads #516, silk, 23.5" x 15.5". Oval portrait of the 1884 Democrat in the 38-star canton, inscribed "For President Grover Cleveland". Light folds, very faint damp stain along right side, mentioned for accuracy only and of little consequence. A choice example. Heritage has never sold an example of this pattern. It is far more rare than the familiar single-portrait flags issued for Cleveland, Blaine and their running mates. Please note that the Blaine mate is also offered in this auction.Auction Info
