Description

Horace Greeley: Attractive 1872-Dated Back-to-Back Ferrotype. A very bright and lustrous frame surrounds an excellent ferrotype image of Horace Greeley on obverse. Reverse contains an image of Gratz Brown. The DeWitt plate example for HG-1872-25, 28mm.

Condition: There is a small dent to this surface with a spec of loss to the left of Brown's head, otherwise the ferrotype surface is free of flaws and presents smooth and glossy like the Greeley side. The loop normally seen for suspension at top of frame is missing.
