Description
Elmer Ellsworth: Back-to-Back Ferrotype. 25mm (1") badge. The obverse has a portrait of Ellsworth. The reverse reads: "Col. Elmer E. Ellsworth/ The Gallant/ Zouave Commander,/ Martyred for his Country/ Alexandria, Va./ May 24, 1861,/ AE. 24 Yrs./ Zouaves, Remember Ellsworth!!" Appears to have the original suspension ribbon.Condition: Glossy emulsion surfaces. One black mark on reverse; otherwise, a very fine example.
