Description

Emilio Aguinaldo: Red Cotton Bandanna. After the easy victory of the Spanish American War, the U.S. got involved in a protracted conflict in the Philippines (the first "quagmire!"). The insurgents, fighting for independence, were led by Emilio Aguinaldo. This 17" square cotton bandanna depicts him in the middle with palm trees and military displays (cannons, machetes) in the four corners. Outside of one small stain, it is in mint condition and the first example we have encountered.
