Description

Douglas & Johnson: Exceedingly Rare Brady Jugate Ribbon. One of the greatest rarities in political ribbons and without doubt the key to the set of Brady 1860 jugates, is this amazing Douglas and Johnson silk. It has been at least fifteen years that we can recall one coming to market, and there are so few known that we expect this item to generate great excitement among collectors of Lincoln and political ribbon specialists. The ribbon is 2" x 7" complete and untrimmed. Portraits are exceptionally bold and unblemished. The ribbon retains its delicately scalloped edges and presents crisp and bright. There is one light horizontal crease or fold 0.25" from the top edge and three barely perceptible pin holes in that same general area which undoubtedly escape attention if not alerted to. These inconsequential issues are easily overlooked when one considers the excessive rarity and otherwise pristine condition of this spectacular piece! No minimum bid. From the J.Doyle Dewitt Collection.
