Description
Abraham Lincoln: 1865 Print Advertisement. 9.5" x 12.75". Copyright dated 1865. Santiago Insurance Company wasted no time in working the recently assassinated president into an advertising campaign. The broadside features a central portrait of Lincoln with smaller vignettes illustrating scenes from his life above and below. Lincoln's home in Springfield and his tomb at the Oak Ridge Cemetery appear above and Lincoln splitting rails, his log cabin in Macon County, Illinois, and Lincoln rafting appear below the portrait. Other than some trivial toning to the paper, it is in fine condition.Auction Info
