Description
Abraham Lincoln: Limited Edition Print Signed by Norman Rockwell. This 10" x 24" (sight) print is titled "Lincoln For the Defense" and signed by the artist in pencil below the plate: "62/200 Norman Rockwell." Professionally double-matted and framed to an overall size of 23" x 37". The original work was created for the Saturday Evening Post's February 10th, 1962 edition. Lincoln is pictured in a white suit and holding an "Almanack," the imagery most likely alluding to the William "Duff" Armstrong trial, or "The Almanac Trial," in which he discredited a witness' account against his friend using an almanac that helped acquit the defendant from the accusation of murder.Condition: Light toning on the border, else fine.
