Zachary Taylor: Peggy Taylor Owned Sampler. President Taylor married Margaret Mackall Smith (a.k.a., "Peggy"). This 8" x 12" sampler executed in green, brown and beige thread was made in 1807 by Ann Hellen, her sister-in-law, and given to Margaret Smith on July 31st. It descended in the Taylor Family and is accompanied by a signed letter of provenance from the consignor, a Taylor descendant, detailing its lineage.Auction Info
