Description

William Henry Harrison: Outstanding Large-size Copper Luster Pitcher. This 7.625" beauty is the second-largest size in which this type is found. Medallion-style panel on front features his portrait with "Harrison & Reform" below, while the reverse shows Harrison's ubiquitous log cabin. On either side of the candidate are flags marked "Tippecanoe" and "Thames," the sites of his two famous military victories. Condition is near-mint. The devices were applied to these pitchers using decals, and a buckling of the decal has caused an irregularity in the word "Reform," as made, but otherwise an unimprovable example. From the Scott W. Dolson Collection.
