Description
John Quincy Adams: Paris Porcelain Hand-Painted Saucer. 5" porcelain saucer with hand-painted portrait of John Quincy Adams surrounded by two concentric bands of gold trim. Inscribed on the bottom "John Q. Adams." Great condition. Likely produced in France for the export market sometime in the 1840s, concurrent with Adams' tenure as United States Congressman. The half-smiling portrait and somewhat youthful features bespeak some degree of artistic license.Auction Info
