Description

James Madison: Highly Important Meissen Bowl with His Portrait. In appearance it closely resembles Paris porcelain, but the crossed sabers on the bottom clearly identify this piece as Meissen. It is one of the very few display pieces which unquestionably date from the time of his presidency. Beautiful, essentially mint condition, diameter 6," and the only example we can recall seeing offered. From the Collection of the Late Edward C. Gillette.
