Abraham Lincoln: Bronze Hand by Leonard Wells Volk. 4" x 6.5" solid bronze clenched hand of Abraham Lincoln, modeled from life by L. W. Volk in 1860. Volk made a life mask, set of hands and bust, based on his sittings with the presidential hopeful. This example is marked on the stump of the wrist "A. Lincoln by L. W. Volk 1860". The bottom part of the hand has been leveled off so that it sits flat. We are selling a plaster version in this sale, as well. Quite heavy.Auction Info
