Woman's Suffrage: Metropolitan Opera House Pageant Trophy. 10" tall sterling and bronze two-handled tankard issued in conjunction with a pageant conducted at the Met on Friday, May 2, 1913. Anna Shaw served as Emcee and ex-President Theodore Roosevelt was the featured speaker, giving an hour-long impassioned address supporting woman suffrage. One side is inscribed "Suffrage Pageant Metropolitan Opera House May 2, 1913". The other side is inscribed: "Presented to Edward Siedle In Grateful Appreciation by American Woman Suffrage Association/ New York State Woman Suffrage Association/ Woman Suffrage Party/ Equal Franchise Society/ Collegiate Equal Suffrage League/ Political Equality Association/ Men's League for Woman Suffrage". All seven of these political organizations worked in concert to produce the event. Marked on bottom with patent date, serial number, "Sterling on Bronze" and logo of the maker ("HAMS" within a diamond, for Heintz Art Metal Shop).

Condition: Indentation and bulge on base, bottom of one handle detached, overall wear and oxidation.
