Mamie Doud Eisenhower: Compact and Lipstick Holder. These two pieces are accompanied by a partially typed, unsigned card that reads, "Oct. 14, 1985 / For Raleigh / The lipstick holder and compact were owned and used by Mamie Eisenhower. She gave them to me not long before she passed away. My husband and I served the Eisenhowers for many years. We were like part of the family. They were great people. I still miss them so. / Mrs. John Moaney / Wife of Sgt. Moaney. Valet to President Eisenhower 1942-1969." The compact is gold tone, 2" in diameter, and complete. The lipstick holder has a 17-jewel Swiss made watch inset on one end and the engraved initials "M.D.E." in the other. It measures 2.25" long and comes with a fitted box from Fitton & Loh 665 Fifth Ave. New York. The compact show moderate wear, the lipstick appears to be unused.
