Description

John F. Kennedy: Tobacco and Cigarette collection including a rare Cigarette Holder. Fantastic collection of political campaign tobacco pieces including cigarettes (19 & 8 respectively in boxes) made by Nat Sherman, cigars, matches and a bubble gum campaign box. Also included is a rare 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" 1 1/2" lucite cigarette holder with JFK's campaign plane the "Caroline" and JFK's facsimile signature. On the lid above the plane is the name "Earl Mazo". He had written a favorable biography on Richard Nixon in 1959 and during the 1960 campaign he was a political reporter for the pro-Nixon New York Herald Tribune. These boxes were normally given to prominent Democrats. Perhaps this presentation was tongue-in-cheek! The rare cigarette box has some light wear, but overall in fine condition. This is only the second example we have offered.
