Description
John F. Kennedy: Original set of Keys to the Limousine President Kennedy was Riding in When Assassinated in Dallas on November 22, 1963. Those who were old enough to remember will never forget that fateful date of November 22, 1963. Most remember where they were and what they were doing when the news broke that President Kennedy had been assassinated in Dallas. The images are vivid....Mrs. Kennedy's pink suit and pill box hat, the President waving to the crowds, and of course the shiny blue Presidential Limousine they were riding in. This set of keys belonged to the limousine the Kennedy's and Governor Connally and his wife were riding in that day. The keys are mounted in a 13.25" x 14" display along with a photograph of the limousine and small plaque that reads "Nov. 22nd, 1963 Dallas, Texas SS 100X," which was the code name of the limousine. The keys appear to have some light wear and are in fine condition. The keys come with a notarized letter of provenance from Robert Steven Turner who was a criminal investigator with the Department of Justice. The letter reads "This letter of authenticity relating to one of the original sets of keys to the 1961 Presidential Lincoln Limousine (SS100X) that President John F. Kennedy last rode in on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. They were given to me by an SS motor pool member while I was a criminal investigator with the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C."Another set of keys to the limousine sold at auction in 2013 realizing $31,600.
