A rare and historic book, FDR's 1942 gift to his White House staff: a black leather savings stamp album and twenty five-cent war stamp book, which is listed on page 45 of Seasons Greetings from The White House by Mary Evans Seeley, along with a full color photograph: "The 1942 gift to the staff was a black leather savings stamp album and a 25¢ war stamp with which to begin a collection that could be redeemed for a savings bond." The black leather album is stamped in gold with the following on the cover: "Christmas, 1942/ From/ F.D.R." A wonderful Christmas item from the President to his staff in 1942.
