Description

Bronze V.D. Brenner Lincoln Cent Design Mounted on Wooden Frame. Bronze piece measures 6.75" in diameter, framed on a bevelled piece of wood to an overall size of 9" x 10". On the bronze is etched "1809" to the left of Lincoln, "1865" to the right, and "V.D. Brenner" to the left, just behind Lincoln's shoulder. This plaque depicts Brenner's design for the Lincoln cent, adopted by the United States Mint in 1909, after Teddy Roosevelt himself commissioned Brenner for the task. Mounted underneath the Lincoln cent design is a bronze plate reading, "Abraham Lincoln 1809-1865". Ready to hang. In very good condition. A real piece of history.
