Description
Abraham Lincoln: George Bissell Bronze Statuettes. Although not signed, these 7.5" bronzes depicting Abraham Lincoln clutching the Emancipation Proclamation are the work of George Bissell. These come in different sizes. Bissell also produced a bust of Lincoln. Each of these figurines stands on a bronze, stepped base incised "Gorham Co. Founders 9449". They have a green, patinated weathered look. Given their mounting, they may have been intended as book ends. Accordingly, we are selling them as a pair. They are circa 1909.Auction Info
