Description

[Texas Rangers]. Captain Frank Jones and Company "D," Frontier Battalion on Mounts, circa 1889. 9.25" x 7.25" (sight), matted and framed to an overall size of 14.5" x 13.5". This sepia-toned albumen print card by F. Chapman shows Captain Frank Jones' Company, both mounted and standing, aiming their firearms into the distance in an image taken near Camp Leona, Ft. Inge, near Uvalde, Texas. Famous Texas Rangers such as Ira Aten, Frank Jones, and John R. Hughes are featured in this photograph. Slight tearing is seen through frame. Pen inscription on back from previous owner.
