Description
George G. Meade: Three Cartes de Visite, One Signed. In the first, measuring 2.25" x 3.5", the general is seen in a vignette portrait by Mathew Brady in uniform facing slightly to his right. Below the image he has signed: "Geo. G. Meade / Maj. Genl. U.S.A." Brady's National Photographic Portrait Galleries backstamp on the verso. The second measures 2.5" x 4" and shows the general from the knees up, in uniform with arms folded. On the verso is a Henszey & Co. backstamp. The final also measures 2.5" x 4" and features an additional vignette portrait bust. Alexander Gardner backstamp on the verso.Auction Info
