Description
Three War-Date Vicksburg Cartes de Visite, no backmarks, identified by pencil inscriptions on verso, ca. 1863 after the city's fall. The first image shows Confederate gun emplacements on the Mississippi and is a variant of a well-known photograph that was published in Miller's 1911 Photographic History of the Civil War; the second and third CDVs look toward the river from the bluffs above the city.
