Robert Anderson Signed Matthew Brady Carte de Visite, 2.5" x 4". Signed "Robert Anderson/ Major Gen. USA" in lower margin. Matthew Brady's studio stamp appears below the Union major's signature as well as on the verso. Anderson is best known as the Union commander who surrendered Fort Sumter to Southerners following their bombardment of the South Carolinian fort in April 1861.
