Description
New York-based Steamer Departure Board CDV. Most unusual carte-de-visite depicting a blackboard on a display easel, titled "Steamer Bulletin", listing eight steamers, their destinations, shipping agents and berths. The destinations include California, New Orleans, Savannah, Norfolk and Charleston. Possibly issued just prior to the outbreak of the Civil War or shortly after the war's conclusion. Back mark of Jordan & Company of New York. Save for clipped corners, it is in great condition.Auction Info
