Mountain Man Extraordinaire: Jim Bridger Carte-de-Visite. CDV of James Felix Bridger (1804-1881), noted mountain man, fur trader, pathfinder and scout. C. D. Fredricks credit and back mark. Verso inscribed: "Jim Bridger/ Rocky Mountain/ Guide". Some minor abrasions along right side, retouching to image, but the only obtainable photograph of this legendary figure. During the Civil War, he served as an Army scout and guide in operations against the Sioux and Cheyenne.Auction Info
