James B. Stedman Cartes de Visite. Pair of CDVs of Union General Stedman. The borderless example is inscribed on verso: "Truly yours/ James B. Stedman/ Brig Genl./ Commanding 2nd Brigade/ Sheridan's Division". The other example has a Washington Gallery of Vicksburg back mark. Stedman served with distinction at Perryville, Chickamauga and Nashville. He also fought in the Texas War for Independence.Auction Info
